The first ever drawing that I remember inspiring me was a Smiley Face on a post it note! My mum has a cork board where she posts things that she needed to do. I couldn't really read back then so the most interesting post it was one with a Smiley face! I thought to myself, "How did my mum manage to draw a Smiley face so perfectly?" I attempted to draw the Smiley face myself... I couldn't do it and tried over and over again. I was probably around 3-4 years old.
I was addicted to My Little Pony when I was between 4 - 7 years old. I used to draw horses in the most simplest way possible. It looked like cave carvings. It could have been a horse or a hairy 4 pillared house.
I was hopelessly addicted to Sailormoon when I was 9 - 10 years old. I had to watch it every Saturday and it was dubbed in Tagalog! (Parurusahan kita, sa ngalan ng buwan!). My obsession was so bad that I drew Sailormoon everyday. I had a Sailormoon pencil case, sticker collection, pens, stationary, paper dolls and all sorts of Sailormoon products! Since there was no internet back then, I used these items as reference for my drawings!
I drew and coloured all the time when I was a child, but this stopped when I became 10 years old. I then got back into my art when I got into High School when I was 15. I haven't stopped since!
I have never tried painting with acrylic paint until I was a Senior in High School.
I migrated to the UK and took all art related subjects for my A Levels: Fine Arts, Textiles and Media Studies. I received the 'Governor's Art Award' in AS Fine Arts and 'Most Original Concept Award' for my music video in Media Studies.
I love art in a way that is too general. I like anime/manga, landscapes, surrealism, graphic design, traditional art and more. In all honesty, I still need to explore my options and find out exactly what branch of art that I would want to pursue further.
I have a long way to go people... It's like what they say, "It isn't the destination that counts, but the journey".
